Field Trip To The Buffalo Science Museum
We enjoyed tremendously our time at the Buffalo Museum of Science. Both classrooms had their own special classes, geared towards their science classes.

Hot Lunch will be on Wednesday Next Week:
The menu will be grilled cheese and tomato soup and fruit. The cost is $2.50. There are no IOU’s allowed. All profit will go to benefit the 8th grade class.

Mrs. Maloon’s Class
Light-Skills—Our light-skill this week was problem solving. We talked about the definition-working hard to find an answer to a problem. Initiative can go hand-in-hand with this light-skill and I have noticed a number of students using both this week.
In science we studied about blue whales, bald eagles, and the African elephant. We talked about endangered species, poachers, and our responsibilities as caretakers of the earth.
We also learned the physics behind popcorn popping. It was really exciting to integrate that bit of science in with our popcorn business and unit on free enterprise while we prepare for the education fair at Union Springs Academy in May.
Field Trip-Our field trip on Wednesday, Mar. 28, was a big hit. Everyone in our class enjoyed the habitat exhibits and the tour with activities first, and then exploring the rest of the museum together in the afternoon. We were able to have a number of teachable moments while learning about the mummies of Egypt and the cardio health exhibits. We saw God and his plan of salvation in every part of his creation.
April 21, Batavia Church Performance—BSCA will be doing the church service at Batavia Church on April 21. Please have your child at the church by 10:30 am. Boys should come wearing dark pants and girls dark pants or skirts All students will change into our light blue performance tops as soon as they arrive at the church. Mr. Maloon’s Classroom
  • There is a grade report today. Please review it, have your child finish the missing work, and return it signed with the missing or done over work.
Some families are not taking advantage of this opportunity!

  • Book Reports!    March book reports can be on any subject; they are due 3 weeks from today (March 30th).

  • On Monday, April 2nd, those who finished their social studies work for 3rd quarter will get opportunity to go out for lunch, so please make sure your child gets her work done.

  • Music Festival at Union Springs:
Grades 5 – 8 went to Union Springs and had a great time. They sang the songs we practiced for the church service last Saturday. We were very proud of their performance and their behavior.
